So proud to be affiliated with Kanile’a ‘Ukulele for many years now. An incredible company based in Kāneʻohe, HI with some amazing people at the helm and throughout their entire staff who exemplify the meaning of aloha. Not only do they make the best sounding and most beautiful ‘ukuleles available, but they are also the ONLY ‘ukulele company who spell the word ‘ukulele correctly ;) (with ʻokina). Mahalo for your continued relationship and I am honored to be a part of your ‘ohana!
The most commonly asked question about my beautiful Kanile’a ‘ukulele is “what is that gold thing on the top?” - It is a custom dual-concentric volume/tone knob which controls the active LR Baggs Element system in this beautiful instrument. Considered a prototype at the time, I was glad to have the opportunity to be one of the first to test drive the pickup. Recently, at the last NAMM show I performed at the Kanile’a and LR Baggs booths. The lead technician for Baggs who helped develop the Element was blown away by the tone saying “Wow…It’s not supposed to sound THAT good” ;)
Had a blast at my kani ka pila at Aloha Warehouse in San Francisco! The next one is already scheduled for next month so be sure to RSVP early as space is very limited! These classes are geared more towards having fun and learning some very useful ‘ukulele tips along the way. Call Edgar Dang at 415-346-7553 for info and reservations. 2/26/11 $15 9-10:30am pst. If you don’t own an ‘ukulele yet, come anyway…Aloha Warehouse has the best selection of ‘ukuleles in the Bay Area for you to peruse…try…and buy ;)

I will be hosting a kani ka pila at Aloha Warehouse (1731 Buchanan St. in San Francisco) on Saturday, October 30th from 9am-10:30am. This will be a lot less structured than my usual ‘ukulele workshops and although you’ll still benefit from some bonafide ‘ukulele knowledge the focus is mainly on having FUN playing music. RSVP fast as the seating is very limited. Call Edgar for more info @ 415-346-7553. Cost is $15.00.
